FLAT TOP DOT FORMATION

Flat top dots, produced using a totally digital workflow, are a standard feature of all printing forms produced using Direct laser engraving.

In recent survey, a large majority of flexo printers confirmed their belief,  that one of the major factors for improved flexo printing was their ability to create printing form with flat top dots.

What is less well known is that flat top dots, produced using a totally digital workflow, are a standard feature of all printing forms produced using Direct laser engraving. Due to the fact that DLE  creates the image into the printing form, without any change to the form or structure of the printing plate or sleeve, means that all DLE printing forms have Flat top dots.

The fact that images are created in the pre-press, and the DLE system reproduces the image, exactly into the finished printing sleeve, in a single steps, means that Direct Laser engraving is a totally digital workflow.

The only thing you need is a simple digital workflow. Pre-press Rip creates a 1 bit TIFF input for the laser engraver (seamless is possible). The laser calculates dot formation during engraving.
